Actor Vijay Deverakonda has reacted to the court’s decision to restrain online ticketing platforms from allowing reviews and ratings for Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. The order has effectively curbed what is being seen as coordinated attempts to damage the film’s prospects even before audiences get a fair chance to experience it.
Taking to social media, Vijay Deverakonda said he felt both relieved and disturbed by the development. He welcomed the court’s intervention, stating that it has protected the immense effort, financial investment, and dreams of an entire film team. At the same time, he expressed concern that such protection had become necessary due to growing negative intent within sections of both the industry and the audience.
Vijay noted that the spirit of mutual respect and collective growth in cinema appears to be eroding. He pointed out that if a film led by a legendary actor like Chiranjeevi could become a target of organized negativity, it underlines the seriousness of the issue, which the court has now formally acknowledged. While the order may not be a complete solution, he described it as a crucial first step in safeguarding cinema.
Reflecting on his own experiences, Vijay Deverakonda said he has been aware of politically motivated agendas and organized attacks on films since Dear Comrade. He shared that for a long time his concerns were dismissed, but collaborators eventually recognized how damaging such coordinated efforts can be. He added that these issues have troubled him deeply over the years, prompting him to think not only about protecting his own films but also about securing a healthier future for upcoming actors.
Concluding his statement, Vijay expressed relief that the court has recognized the threat posed by organized groups targeting films. He also conveyed his hope that all Sankranthi releases, including Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, will succeed and bring joy to audiences during the festive season.
