
Mickey J. Meyer is known for his melodious compositions. At one point, his songs dominated the charts. Some his hit albums are: Happy Days, Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, A Aa, Mahanati, Shyam Singha Roy, and Oh Baby. However, he recently relocated to the USA. His recent films haven’t made much of an impact.
After a break, he returned with the score for Nani’s “HIT 3.” While critics found the score adequate, fans felt it lacked impact.
Responding to the feedback, Meyer posted on X.com, stating that he has always believed a background score should stay in the background — subtle, not loud or overpowering. It was a risky choice, but with the film opening to massive collections, he felt his decision was validated.
He wrote: “So happy with the success of #hit3 Congrats @NameisNani sir and @KolanuSailesh both were instrumental in demanding a score that is mood based and not the usual loud. Such attempts are risky but it paid off!”

Mickey J. Meyer further stated that he has consistently embraced unconventional paths and refused to adhere to industry conventions. So, he’s unfazed by criticism about the score’s subtlety.
“My purpose in scoring is in the word it self, BackGround score, be at the back,, not scream at the front!! unless required! takes time, i am ready to risk it all to get to a new zone of scoring! But again, i have always rebelliously walked in the opposite direction of how things are done in the industry! i love it!”
