Not only in the domestic Indian market, but “Mirai” also delivered strong numbers in North America last weekend. The film grossed nearly $1.7 million in its first weekend, finishing just below Nani’s HIT 3 and ahead of Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom.
Unlike HIT 3 and Kingdom, Mirai had a modest opening on premiere shows but saw a huge surge on the second day. On Saturday, it recorded its biggest single-day performance, grossing about $564K. On Sunday, it added another $300K plus, pushing the total weekend gross close to $1.7 million.
“Mirai” is on track to enter the $2 million club soon.
Meanwhile, “Kishkindhapuri” grossed about $180K, a slightly better performance for a Bellamkonda starrer.
Additionally, advance ticket sales for Pawan Kalyan’s “OG” have already reached $1.5 million, performing on par with “Kalki 2898 AD,” with ten days remaining before its theatrical release.
