Mohini rose to fame in the 1990s with notable roles in popular films like Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Aditya 369”, Mohan Babu’s “Detective Narada”, and Chiranjeevi’s “Hitler”. Later, she appeared predominantly in Tamil cinema, building a prolific career spanning over 100 films.
Now in her late forties, married with two children, and living away from the limelight, Mohini recently opened up in an interview with a Tamil YouTube channel “Aval Vikatan” about one of the most uncomfortable experiences in her career.
She recalled shooting the glamorous and steamy “Udal Thazhuva” song for the Tamil film “Kanmani”, which featured her in a bikini.
According to Mohini, the swimsuit song was filmed without her consent, under the direction of R.K. Selvamani.
She stated,”Kanmani was the only film where I was shown in an overly glamorous way without my consent.”
Her candid revelation highlights the challenges faced by actresses in the industry during that era.
