Actor Naga Chaitanya has secured interim relief from the Delhi High Court in a personality rights case concerning the unauthorized use of his name, image, and likeness across merchandise platforms, AI-generated content, and online videos.
The matter came up before Justice Jyoti Singh after Senior Advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, representing the actor, argued that several websites were exploiting Naga Chaitanya’s name alongside explicit search terms to drive traffic and circulate objectionable content. The court was also shown instances of unauthorized merchandise featuring the actor’s likeness.
Taking note of the allegations, the court issued summons to the defendants and directed them to file their responses. Naga Chaitanya also sought a dynamic injunction to curb the emergence of new infringing websites and URLs.
The matter will be heard further after the defendants submit their responses.
On the work front, Naga Chaitanya is currently acting in a mystic thriller, Vrushakarma, directed by Karthik Dandu. The film has not yet announced its release date.
