“Funky”, starring Vishwaksen and Kayadu Lohar, released today to largely negative reviews. Many critics pointed out the lack of organic flow and described the story as flimsy, calling it a collection of loosely stitched sequences.
Responding to the criticism, producer Naga Vamsi said the team had anticipated such reactions. He admitted that the film may appear like a patchwork of episodes but maintained that it was designed purely as a comedy entertainer.
“Funky is not a film aimed at critics. It is made purely to entertain audiences. It delivers laughs. I had already told audiences that it does not have a strong story. This film is meant only for comedy,” he stated.
Naga Vamsi also remarked that collaborating with directors like Anudeep KV is always a gamble. “If it clicks, the returns will be huge. If it doesn’t, it may not work much. Still, I believed in the project and went ahead,” he said.
He urged audiences to watch the film in theatres over the weekend without being influenced by reviews, expressing confidence that they would find it entertaining.
