OTT Row: Anushka lends support to producer

Quelling rumors that Anushka is obstructing the efforts of the producer to release her movie ‘Nishabdham’ on digital platforms, her team has given a clarification. Anushka Shetty has asked her fans not to trend anything against the producer on social media if he decides to release the movie on OTT platforms bypassing the theatrical release. “Producer’s decision is final. No one should not comment against it,” she told her fans who were about to trend against the producer’s move.

‘Nishabdham’ was originally planned for January 2020 release. It was later pushed to April 2nd. But lockdown has pushed it into a quagmire of uncertainty. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad has now decided to release it on OTT platforms directly without taking it to the movie theaters. There is no clarity when would the theaters open in Telugu states. 

Though Anushka was initially not in favor of direct digital release, she has now realized the burden of the producer in the prevailing conditions and has decided to support whatever decision he feels right for the movie. 

The team Anushka has requested all her online fans to maintain silence and respect her decision. 

‘Nishabdham’ is a thriller with Anushka Shetty playing the main protagonist. Directed by Hemanth Madhukar, the movie has Madhavan, Anjali, and Shalini Panday in the main roles. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and presented by Kona Venkat, ‘Nishabdham’ has received positive reaction for its trailers.
