Just the other day, Vallabhaneni Ashok, the producer of ‘Peta’, was sounding very confident. He said that the Rajinikanth film will be a blockbuster in Telugu.
Yesterday, speaking at the pre-release event of the film, Ashok was a different man. He now knows that ‘Peta’ is struggling to find theatres. He blames it on the oligarchy in the film industry wherein a handful of producers controlling theatres decide the scale of the release of a film.
Ashok took specific names during his sensational speech: UV Creations, Dil Raju, Allu Aravind and “a few others”. These producers are favouring ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ and ‘F2’. Even ‘NTR’ is not finding enough number of theatres, he said.
So, Ashok claims to have been pained. He used unparliamentary language against the above producers. He called them dogs and urged the CMs of the Telugu States too end the “theatre mafia”. He suggested that ruthless action should be taken against this “mafia”.
