Prakash Raj may be a busy actor down South but in Bollywood, the going has been very tough for him. The actor has opened up on the lack of offers in Hindi.
Believe it or not, he has attributed it indirectly to Narendra Modi. “Ever since last October when I started questioning Modi (after the murder of Gauri Lankesh), not a single Hindi film has come my way,” the actor claims.
How credible is the claim? Doing a post-term, an observer notes, “Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, about 60 Bollywood personalities wrote an open letter asking people not to elect Modi. Directors Imtiaz Ali, Mahesh Bhatt and Kabir Khan, actresses Nandita Das and Aditi Rao are among them. They are doing great in Bollywood. Why then is Prakash Raj using victim card?”
If Prakash Raj’s filmography in Hindi is taken into consideration, there are years before 2017 when there were no Hindi offers. This is after he did almost six movies in 2013. Producer Madhura Sreedhar Reddy has this to say about Prakash Raj: “Just ask Salman Khan bhai about Prakash Raj’s nautanki. People will get answer why he is not offered any role in Bollywood.”
