Puri Jagannadh is celebrating his birthday today. On this occasion, he had planned to unveil the title and teaser of his current film featuring Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. However, the team has cancelled these plans in the aftermath of the Karur tragedy at Vijay’s roadshow, where 39 people, including children, lost their lives.
The team issued a statement:
“Owing to the unfortunate incident in Tamil Nadu, Team #PuriSethupathi has postponed the Title & Teaser Launch Event planned for today. The team extends its deepest condolences to all the families mourning their loss and stands with them in this moment of tragedy.”
There are reports that the film is titled “Slumdog,” but we will have to wait for the official announcement.
The film features Vijay Sethupathi as the main protagonist, with Samyuktha playing the female lead. Veteran actress Tabu plays a key role and, in a recent social media post, referred to the film as “South Ka Dhamaka.” Duniya Vijay, Brahmaji, Vishu Reddy, and VTV Ganesh are also part of the cast.
