Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ faces massive target in North America

Despite delivering two setbacks after the global blockbuster “RRR,” Ram Charan’s star power appears completely intact. In fact, his upcoming film “Peddi” has generated even bigger buzz than his recent releases, reflecting both his sustained popularity and the strong impact of the promotional material unveiled so far.

The hype has translated directly into business. The overseas theatrical rights of Peddi have reportedly been sold for a significant price. According to Venky Box Office (X.com/@Venky_BO), which tracks Telugu film collections in North America, the film’s breakeven target in the region is said to be around $6.5 million. However, industry sources suggest that the actual figure is slightly lower, estimated at over $5 million. Regardless of the exact number, it remains a massive target.

Trade analysts believe “Peddi” is poised for a strong start from its premiere shows in North America, driven by advance buzz and Ram Charan’s global recognition after RRR.

If the film secures positive reviews and strong word of mouth, crossing the $5 million mark appears achievable. However, going beyond $6 million would require the film to emerge as a full-fledged blockbuster.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, “Peddi” features music by AR Rahman. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead opposite Ram Charan. After a postponement, the film is now scheduled for release on April 30, 2026. The makers are also set to unveil the second song later this month, which is expected to further boost momentum ahead of release.
