“Salaar” aka “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire”, directed by Prashanth Neel, starring Prabhas is one of the biggest Telugu hits last year. Not only did the film provide much relief to Prabhas’ career and put him back on track for success.
Now, director Prashanth Neel is working on “Salaar 2”. But the team and Prabhas’ fans are perplexed by the TV viewership ratings.
“Salaar” earned 6.52 TVR, which is too low for a film of this size. In other words, the television premiere is a flop.
Some argue that big films that performed well in theaters do not translate well to television. Others argue that the film contains unsuitable content for children and family audiences. Another possible explanation is the popularity of this season’s IPL games.
One thing is clear: the performance “Salaar” on TV disappointed fans.
