Venkatesh is a shrewd actor. He prefers remakes as they are a safe bet. Also, he is the first senior actor who agreed to do multi-starrer movies. He is quick to guess which direction winds are moving. Similarly, now seeing the reaction to Nagarjuna’s ‘Manmadhudu 2’, he has changed his mind of remaking ‘De De Pyaar De’.
When Ajay Devgn and Rakul starrer ‘De De Pyaar De’ created some good buzz in Bollywood, he thought of remaking it in Telugu. In this movie, Ajay Devgn played the of a 50-year-old guy falling in love with a 25-year-old girl. Venky thought this subject would suit his age.
However, when ‘Manmadhudu 2’ which also dealt a similar subject received wide-spread criticism and bombed at the box-office, Venkatesh has dropped the idea of remaking ‘De De Pyaar De’.He is now looking for new stories.
