Spirit: Vidya Balan backs Deepika Padukone’s demands

Vidya Balan has come out in support of Deepika Padukone’s request for reduced work hours on the sets of “Spirit,” citing the need for flexibility for new mothers.

Deepika reportedly set a condition while being considered for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film “Spirit” opposite Prabhas. Deepika reportedly said she would not work more than eight hours a day. However, creative differences, including this condition, eventually led to a fallout between Deepika and Vanga.

Speaking on the matter, Vidya Balan said, “I personally have no issues working even 12 hours a day or traveling to any location for a shoot. But new moms are a different case altogether. They have added responsibilities and need to care for their children. One should be accommodating toward them.”

Vidya Balan has previously appeared in Telugu films, including “NTR: Mahanayakudu.”

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is currently working on the upcoming film with Allu Arjun, directed by Atlee.
