The war of words between producers and Telangana exhibitors continues to intensify. After producers Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Mythri Ravi Shankar took digs at distributor Shirish, a close associate and family member of Dil Raju, as well as exhibitor-distributor Suniel Narang, the response from the exhibitors’ side has now turned sharper and more personal.
Reacting to Naga Vamsi’s remarks that Suniel Narang has been converting single-screen theaters into multiplexes and expanding multiplex chains wherever land is available, Narang hit back strongly in an interview with TV9 Telugu.
“Wo kya naam hai beta wo producer rahta.. chasma pehnke duplicate baal kata dekho.. Naga Vamsi right. Aaina edo annadu naaku multiplexulu unnayi… ekkada sthalam kanipiste multiplex kaditananta… aayanaki choopinchandi ee list… 33 single theaters unnayi maku,” Narang said.
Through the remark, Narang countered the allegations by stating that he still owns 33 single-screen theaters and sarcastically referred to Naga Vamsi as a producer “wearing glasses and a wig.”
With both sides now making increasingly personal remarks, the clash between the Active Producers Guild and Telangana exhibitors has escalated further, deepening the divide within the Telugu film industry.
