US Box Office: Bhairavam takes a decent start

“Bhairavam,” starring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas, had a decent start at the USA box office, grossing over $50K from premiere shows. For a Bellamkonda Srinivas starrer—an actor typically seen as an action hero and not considered a strong draw at the US box office—this is an impressive figure.

However, the film needs to gross at least $200K to be considered a decent hit. It remains to be seen how it performs over the weekend.

New releases like “Bhairavam” are also facing stiff competition from re-releases. Khaleja 4K, which premiered on Thursday, opened to a massive response and has already collected nearly $100K in just two days in the USA. This re-release has diverted a segment of Telugu movie fans away from the new offerings.

Meanwhile, advance premiere sales for Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu are gradually picking up. The film has grossed $125K so far. Trade analysts expect a significant jump in collections following the trailer release.
