In a male-dominated film industry, women getting chances as directors can be considered an achievement itself. Lakshmi Sowjanya is debuting as a director with ‘Varudu Kaavalenu’ that features popular names like Naga Shaurya and Ritu Varma. The film hits the theaters on October 29.
As the trailer shown, it is a rom-com about a stubborn young woman and a successful young guy. Since the film is helmed by a woman, people assume that it is targeted for women audience. But the debutante says that the film appeals to both girls and boys alike. It will strike the right chord with all sections of audience, she said.
“It is a beautiful film who can enjoy it in the theatre in a relaxed way,” she stresses.
Marriage is the theme of the film. “The characterizations of the progataginsts are totally different from the regular love stories. The dialogue is also fresh,” she mentioned. She thanked producer China Babu for his unwavering support throughout the production.
