Actor-turned-politician Vijay has drawn attention ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections after visuals of him offering prayers at multiple religious places went viral.
As part of his campaign, Vijay visited a temple, where he performed sashtanga namaskaram before the deity. He also offered prayers at a mosque, reflecting his outreach to different communities.
In addition, Vijay was seen at St. Anthony’s Church in Tiruchirappalli, where he knelt and moved forward in prayer before beginning his campaign in the Trichy East constituency.
These visits come just days before polling, with Vijay contesting under the name C. Joseph Vijay. His multi-faith outreach has become a talking point during the election campaign.
Tamil Nadu will vote across all 234 constituencies in a single phase this Thursday, with results scheduled to be announced on May 4, 2026.
