After ‘Maharshi’, no film made huge impact at domestic and US box-office. While films like ‘Falaknuma Das’ made some noise, no film brought smiles on the faces of exhibitors and distributors.
Last weekend too, box-office witnessed off-beat and non-star driven movies like ‘Mallesham’, ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’, ‘1st Rank Raju’ and ‘Voter’. While ‘Mallesham’ received positive reviews and appreciation from film lovers for its honest portrayal of Chintakindi Mallesham’s story, the film has not capitalized its talk to post good numbers at ticket window.
Of all the new releases, ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’, a detective thriller that introduced Navin Polishetty as the lead actor, has witnessed a steady growth in the collections on Saturday and Sunday proving that it is first choice for the youngsters this weekend. The film has seen good collections in Hyderabad and other urban areas in AP and Telangana.
The film has collected good amount in USA. It is estimated that the film has grossed $135k (Rs 93 lakhs) in its first weekend, making it a hit in USA.
Taapsee’s ‘Game Over’ that collected Rs 2.60 Cr is running in some pockets in its second week. ‘Voter’ was a disaster.
