Yathra is not about YSR's life, says Mammootty

Malayalam superstar Mammootty will be seen as YSR in the biopic ‘Yathra’. The actor is promoting this film and said that Yathra is not about YSR’s life. It deals with the Padayathra conducted by YSR and the incidents that happened during the walk.

It was the script that made Mammootty do this film. For Mammootty it was a great experience working with Mahi V Raghav, the director of the film. Only two films old, this director is experienced, says Mammootty.

No research was done by him about his role. He just followed Mahi’s direction. Though the film is on YSR, Mammootty has tried to remain himself. He has not imitated YSR. He has just played his character. He has even dubbed in his voice. Mammootty feels that Telugu and Malayalam are very close and some words are similar. So there was no problem regarding this. 

After long we are seeing him in Tollywood, this is just because he did not find any interesting film till now, he concluded.
