Akhil Akkineni’s career has been in a lull. After the debacle of his spy thriller “Agent,” the actor took a long break from films and shifted focus to his personal life, even getting married during this period.
Now, Akhil is gearing up for a strong comeback with Lenin, directed by Murali Kishore Abburu. The project recently went through several changes, including Sreeleela’s exit from the cast.
In a media interaction at IFFI Goa, Akhil’s father, Nagarjuna, confirmed that the film is back on track. “Everything is going great. I am very happy with the way things are progressing. Expect the unexpected from this movie,” Nagarjuna said.
Though the exact timeline for the shoot’s resumption and the film’s release remains unclear, Nagarjuna hinted that “Lenin” will hit theaters sooner than expected.
Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments is co-producing the film.
