Baahubali gets record price for satellite rights

Producers of Rajamouli’s Baahubali are minting money like anything. The movie has already grossed the Rs 600 crores worldwide. Now the movie’s satellite rights for Telugu version were sold for record price.

Leading general entertainment channel Maa TV won the rights for the satellite telecast for the two parts of Baahubali (Baahubali The Beginning and Baahubali The Conclusion) for Rs 30 crores. This is highest ever amount paid by TV channel for a Telugu movie.

The producers wanted to sell off for Rs 16 Crores for the part 1 before the movie’s release but no channel came forward to pay such hefty amount. Since the part 1 became a phenomena at box-office, Maa TV clinched the deal for two parts for such record amount.
