Crafting Hrithik-NTR clash was challenging, says Ayan

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, is set for release on August 14. The action thriller features a high-stakes showdown between two of Indian cinema’s biggest stars: Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr.

Ayan Mukerji reveals that the most challenging aspect was crafting a story compelling enough to bring these two icons into conflict. He saw “War 2” not just as a sequel, but as a chance to both honor the original and take the franchise into bold new territory.

“It’s a huge responsibility to carry forward such a beloved franchise,” Ayan says. “We knew we couldn’t simply repeat what worked the first time. Everything—from the action sequences to the emotional arcs—was built to raise the bar and excite both fans of the franchise and these superstars.”

Calling “War 2” a celebration of Indian cinema on a massive scale, Ayan promises a thrilling theatrical experience. “Pairing Hrithik and NTR created huge expectations,” he adds. “We’ve poured everything into delivering an unforgettable ride for the audience.”
