First Week: Mr.Majnu displays dismal performance

‘Mr.Majnu’ featuring Akhil Akkineni and Nidhi Agerwal has turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments in the recent times. The film merely collected about Rs 11.5 crore share in its first week. Other than ‘F2’, the film has not faced much competition at the box-office, yet it has failed to bring in good revenue.

After ‘Akhil The Power of Jua’ and ‘Hello’, ‘Mr.Majnu’ has become the third consecutive unsuccessful film of Akhil Akkineni. And director Venky Atluri whose debut film ‘Tholi Prema’ was a decent hit has scored flop with very second movie.

By looking at the performance of the first week, we can safely say all distributors would be landing in losses with this movie. It may not even cross Rs 15 crore mark at the box office in its total run.

‘Mr.Majnu’ also has Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Naga Babu and Priyadarshi in other key roles and music is scored by S S Thaman, whose songs are fairly better aspect of this predictable love story. The film is produced by BVSN Prasad.
