Producer Niranjan Reddy shot to fame with “Hanu Man.” Although he produced other films like “Darling” and distributed films like “Double iSmart,” Niranjan Reddy gained recognition mainly for the blockbuster movie “Hanu Man.”
He is currently producing another high-budget movie, “SYG,” with Sai Dharam Tej. But he feels that he was cheated by some filmmakers, including Puri Jagannadh and Prashanth Varma, as well as others.
After the success of “Hanu Man,” Prashanth Varma took the sequel to Mythri Movie Makers, ditching the original producer Niranjan Reddy, who invested big money in the first part and trusted Prashanth Varma’s vision. After gaining success, Prashanth Varma refused to work with Niranjan Reddy.
Similarly, Puri Jagannadh and Charmee have sold theatrical rights of “Double iSmart” for more than 40 Cr, and the movie ended up losing more than Rs 30 cr. He has sought money from Puri and Charmee for the losses, but they are refusing to repay him.
He feels cheated by these filmmakers by their backtracking on their words. Niranjan Reddy is now seeking action against these filmmakers and others and approached the Film Chamber of Commerce.
