Nishabdham revives OTT direct release plans

Much has been written about the OTT deal of Anushka’s ‘Nishabdham’ but insiders say the makers have not yet closed the negotiations with the digital streaming firms. ‘Nishabdham’ starring Anushka in the lead role is made in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The producers have plans to skip theatrical release and go for direct digital release.

Both Anushka and the producers had differed on this plan earlier but she later told them to make a decision that best suits them during this crisis. The producers have now decided to go for direct digital but the deal has not yet closed.

With the recent Tamil and Hindi biggies that released on OTT platforms receiving negative comments from the general public, the streaming apps have now become cautious in buying the films.

We have to wait and see whether Anushka’s ‘Nishabdham’ clinches a deal with streaming Apps for direct release or not.

‘Nishabdham’ is directed by Hemanth Madhukar and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad. Kona Venkat is a co-producer. The film also starred Madhavan, Anjali, Shalini Panday, and Subbaraju in other main roles.
