Producer RR Venkat passes away

RR Venkat, better known for films like ‘Samanyudu’, ‘Kick’, ‘Businessman’, and ’Poolarangadu’, is no more. The producer, who was suffering from a kidney ailment, breathed his last on Monday at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad. He was 54. Venkat entered the film industry 15 years ago by distributing and financing films. He soon became a top producer.

Ravi Teja starrer ‘Kick’ was a turning point in his career as the producer.

He went on to produce films like Mahesh Babu’s ‘Businessman’, Ravi Teja’s ‘Don Seenu’, Sunil starrer ‘Poola Rangadu’, Nagarjuna’s ‘Damarukam’ and Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Autonagar Surya’, Nani’s ‘Paisa’. He also produced a Hollywood film titled ‘Divorce Invitation.

He never appeared at film functions. He preferred to remain far away from the media. In his entire career, his photograph never was published in the media.
