Suriya’s grand gesture: Luxury cars for ‘Karuppu’ technicians

Suriya has finally struck gold at the box office after a prolonged dry spell. Following a series of underperforming films in recent years, the actor had pinned his hopes on “Karuppu”, directed by RJ Balaji. Despite facing hurdles ahead of its release, the film has gone on to become the biggest Tamil blockbuster of 2026.

Released in Telugu as “Veera Bhadrudu”, the film is also on track to emerge as the biggest hit of Suriya’s career.

As a gesture of appreciation, Suriya has reportedly gifted luxury cars to key technicians who played a major role in the film’s success. Cinematographer GK Vishnu received a Mahindra BE 6 “Batman Edition”, while music director Sai Abhyankkar and editor R. Kalaivanan were also presented with premium cars.

The actor is also expected to gift a car to director RJ Balaji in recognition of his contribution to the film.

Meanwhile, Suriya and his wife Jyothika visited the Pathinettam Padi Karuppanna Swamy Temple near Madurai on Sunday and offered prayers, expressing gratitude for the film’s phenomenal success.
