Ananya Panday opposite Vijay Deverakonda in Fighter!?

It seems the search for right jodi for Vijay Deverakonda has ended. Ananya Panday, daughter of well-known Bollywood actor Chunky Panday, is said to be playing the female lead opposite Vijay Deverakonda in Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Fighter’. The film will commence the regular shoot tomorrow (Jan 20) in Mumbai. The makers are yet to announce the female lead’s name but our sources say he has finalized Ananya’s name.

Director Puri Jagannadh has tried to rope in Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Kiara Advani but both of them have couldn’t adjust dates due to their prior commitments in Bollywood. So, Karan Johar who is also co-producing the movie suggested Ananya’s name and Puri reportedly has given his nod.

Ananya Panday made debut in Bollywood film ‘Student of the Year 2’ and also acted in recent ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’.

The first schedule will last for fifteen days. Ananya may join the shoot in the second schedule. The film also features Ramya Krishna as Vijay Deverakonda’s mother. Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar and Charmee are producing this boxing drama. Vijay Deverakonda underwent training in mixed-martial arts in Thailand to essay this role.
