Popular Telugu film director A.S. Ravi Kumar Chowdary, best known for “Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham,” passed away on Tuesday night following a heart attack.
Ravi Kumar Chowdary made his directorial debut in 2002 with “Manasutho” but gained fame with “Yagnam,” starring Gopichand, which turned out to be a surprise hit. He later collaborated with Nandamuri Balakrishna for “Veerabhadra”, which failed to make an impact at the box office. Subsequent films like “Aatadista” (with Nithiin) and “Em Pillo Em Pillado” (with Tanish) also did not fare well, affecting his career trajectory.
However, he made a comeback in 2014 with “Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham,” starring Sai Dharam Tej, which received decent success and appreciation. Unfortunately, he couldn’t replicate that success with his later films such as “Soukyam” and “Tiragabadara Saami.”
Members of the Telugu Film Directors Association and several film industry celebrities have expressed their condolences and paid heartfelt tributes to the late director.
