The recently released film “Tribanadhari Barbarik,” starring Sathyaraj, Udayabhanu, Vashishta Simha, and others, opened on a limited scale but failed to attract audiences, with theaters reportedly empty.
Disheartened by the poor response, the film’s director, Mohan Srivatsa, shared his frustration in a video that has now gone viral. He revealed that when he visited a theater, only about ten people were present. Although the audience members told him the film was good, he questioned why such films are not appreciated while Malayalam cinema often garners strong support.
Earlier, he had declared: “If I don’t like this film, I will beat it with my sandal.” Staying true to his words, the director struck himself with a sandal during the video and uploaded it to Instagram.
His emotional outburst has sparked wide discussion on social media, with many debating both the struggles of small-budget films and the director’s dramatic response.
