There is no respite for Telugu movie distributors in USA. All the exhibitors are waiting for the release of Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’. Telugu movies released after ‘Ghazi’ have failed to bring smiles on the faces of distributors and exhibitors in US market.
Last week’s ‘Cheliyaa’ too has failed. The movie’s collections are dismal. By end of the first weekend, the movie grossed about $81k. That means, the movie is a total wash out. Mani Ratnam’s earlier movie ‘Ok Bangaram’ grossed lifetime collection of $372. But his Cheliyaa has got mere $79k as opening weekend. People didn’t show much interest in the film. Even the publicity was equally bad. And Rehman’s music was so uninteresting.
