Although year 2015 saw many record-breaking movies that had collected 100’s of crores of rupees, one month that made the producers and distributors life miserable was March which is also known as ‘Exams Month’. Total 21 movies released but not a single movie was a hit. Surya Vs Surya starring Nikhil released amidst huge expectations as his earlier two movies were hits but the movie failed to entice the audiences. It was a break-even project for the producer, though.
Interestingly, Nani had two releases on same day in March – Jenda Pai Kapiraju and Yevade Surbramanyam, while the former was a total disaster, the latter won good appreciation and found patronage in multiplexes.
The much-hyped Gopichand starrer Jil brought huge losses to the producers. And YVS Chowdhary’s Rey, which was to be debut movie of Sai Dharam Tej but ended up being second release, sank without a trace at the box-office.
